Just two weeks ago, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 Compact as a scaled down variant of its current flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and now the handset is available to buy in Sweden for €520 from various independent retailers.

In terms of specifications, the mid-to-high range smartphone packs a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset powered by four 2.2GHz central processing units, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), an Adreno 330 GPU, a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2,300 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

Straight out of the box the Z1 Compact runs the latest build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sony’s X-Reality custom user interface plastered over the top, but its rumored to be receiving the much-anticipated 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade in the not-too-distant future.

At present, the handset is only available to purchase in black, but the white, pink, lime and yellow colorways are expected to touchdown in Sweden within the next couple of weeks — so if you want to pick up a Z1 Compact in one of these colors, you won’t have too long to wait.
