Hello SMS Update Adds Image Sending Confirmation & Improvements

Hello-SMS-Android

Hello SMS, my favorite third-party SMS client and one of our picks for Best Apps of 2013, has gotten a new update that adds a number of new features and improvements based on user feedback. Highlights include an image sharing confirmation prompt, the ability to turn off invite reminders, and some user interface improvements.

Many of the changes were made after the Hello SMS team picked up on some of the feedback the app was receiving on Reddit. For instance, one user reported that he accidentally sent images of his genitalia to his mother due to the lack of a confirmation prompt when sending photos, so Hello SMS will now ask you whether you definitely want to send your image after you’ve selected it.

Complaints about the constant invite reminders — which ask you whether you would like to invite your friends to use Hello SMS — have also led to a new option that allows you to disable invite reminders completely from within the settings menu.

In addition to these things, there are some minor design changes that give you more space for writing longer messages, and a better compose screen when messaging new people.

As for the dark theme and pop-up reply feature that many have been requesting, that’ll be coming in a future release.
