Apple and Samsung have agreed to a mediation session — to be held on or before February 19 — prior to their March court date regarding smartphone patents.

According to a Wednesday court filing, both Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Oh-Hyun Kwon will attend the session. Their respective legal teams had previously met on January 6 to “discuss settlement opportunities.”

Over the past two years, Apple and Samsung have gone to trial two times in federal court in San Jose, California — with Apple awarded a total of $930 million.

Apple said in December court documents that it has paid its leading outside law firm approximately $60 million for its part in the patent litigation suit. It has also argued that Samsung should pay $15.7 million toward Apple’s accumulated legal costs.
