Verizon has announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Motorola Droid Mini, Ultra, and Maxx will begin begin rolling out to users in phases starting today. It makes the trio the first carrier-exclusive smartphones to receive Google’s latest KitKat software.

The Android 4.4 update brings lots of user interface and design changes, including full-screen mode — as well as color Emoji, Camera improvements for better images, SMS integration in Hangouts, and updates for a number of built-in apps, including Motorola Assist, QuickOffice, and Google Photos.

The software will be available to download over-the-air, and users will receive a notification when it’s ready for their device. It’s coming in phases, so not everyone will receive it today — but you should receive it in time for Christmas, that’s for sure.
