Sony Launches USB Flash Drive For Android Smartphones & Tablets

Sony-2-in-1-USB-open

Earlier today, Sony officially launched its first dual micro USB flash drive, which has been designed by and large for users with very low storage capacities on their Android-powered smartphones or tablets. This memory stick allows it users to directly transfer files from their phone-to-PC without having to remove the microSD card. The unit features a full USB 2.0 port and a microUSB connector, nicely packaged into a compact, elegant body.

The flash drive offers USB on-the-go functionality for devices running the latest build of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher. In order to use this service, users will need to download Sony’s file manager app from the Google Play Store, which will enable them to transfer files back and forth from the memory stick.

The drive will be available in all Sony bricks-and-mortar stores from next month, in three different memory sizes — 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, with prices forecast as $19.99, $29.99 and $62.99 respecively.
