Three U.K. has today announced that customers will now be able to use their U.K. allowances of calls, texts, and data in the United States and three other countries at no additional cost as part of its “fear-free” Feel At Home roaming initiative.

So, providing you have calls, texts, and data as part of your Three plan in the U.K., you’ll be able to use them in exactly the same way in the U.S. for free, eliminating high roaming costs or the need to buy a local SIM card to use while you’re away.

Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Macau have also been added to the Feel At Home scheme, bringing the total number of supported destinations to 11.

“We want customers to get the most out of their devices at home or abroad,” said Three CEO Dave Dyson. “High roaming charges stop people enjoying their phones while they’re away and Feel At Home is the antidote to that.”

“Adding the USA to the mix is great news for our customers and shows our commitment to giving them the best experience in what is a popular destination. We plan to add more countries to the mix soon.”

Don’t think that Three will take a loss by giving you free roaming, either. As part of its quarterly business update, the carrier noted how popular propositions like Feel At Home helped it increase its total number of active customers to 7.8 million — a 9.7 percent increase since Q3 2012.

Three quietly began rolling out its new 4G network in the U.K. earlier this week, with aims to cover 50 cities by the end of 2014, and 98% of the population by the end of 2015.
