Verizon has just begun rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat for the Motorola Moto X. Verizon! KitKat! Moto X!

I can’t quite believe it, either.

The update will introduce a number of new features, many of which recently made their debut on the Nexus 5, including an improved phone dialer with integrated search, the new Hangouts app with support for SMS, the new Photos app with the latest editing features, and color Emojis.

The update will also add some new user interface improvements, such as restyled status and navigation bars, and a new fullscreen mode in supported apps. Finally, there are some changes specific to the Moto X, including an improved Camera app and enhancements to Touchless Control.

This update will also make its way to Moto X handsets on other carriers, of course, but for what seems like the first time ever, Verizon will be first to roll it out. It’s also interesting to note that the Moto X has received KitKat before the Nexus 4, and the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
