Google has pushed out a new update to its official Google Keyboard app for Android, introducing a number of new KitKat features — including support for Emoji — and some small design tweaks. It’s available to devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and you’ll find it in Google Play right now.

In addition to new Emoji icons on supported devices, this update adds “space-aware gesture typing,” which means you no longer need to lift your finger off of the keyboard to insert a space when gesture typing — simply swipe through the spacebar in between words instead.

Google has also removed the blue highlighting that previously appeared when you pressed a key, and there are other minor changes that bring the keyboard in line with that built into Android 4.4 KitKat.

You can download the update from Google Play now, and as always, it’s completely free.
