As from today, Samsung’s latest Android-powered tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition, is available to purchase from several “major retailers” in Canada. Unfortunately, Canadians will only be able to get their hands on the Wi-Fi-only octa-core Exynos version of the slate at present, but rumor has it that the 4G model will not be too far behind and should be well its way within the next few months.

The Note 10.1 is a very impressive high-end tablet, which packs a 10.1-inch Super LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 octa-core processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), 3GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a very impressive 8,220 mAh non-removable battery.

In terms of software, the slate will ship running the latest build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s exclusive TouchWiz UI. The Note 10.1 also comes jam-packed with some great new features, which include; My Magazine, Advanced Multi Window, Pen Window, Air Command, Scrapbook, Action Memo and S Finder.

The device is available to purchase at Best Buy, Future Shop and other major retailers starting today, but sadly it’s currently only available in the “classic white” color variant. There’s no word with regards to the availability of the “Jet Black” version, but we expect it will be coming to Canada in the not too distant future.

In addition, Samsung is offering a handful of exclusive promotional gifts for customers who purchase a Galaxy Note 10.1 before Saturday, November 30, these include a $20 Samsung Apps gift card, three months of free Rdio streaming, two free ebooks from the “For Dummies” series of books and 50GB of Dropbox storage for two years.
