Feedly Update Brings Redesigned Widget & Speed Improvements

Feedly

The popular cross-platform RSS reader, Feedly, has received a pretty hefty update on the Google Play Store, bringing along with it a completely redesigned home screen widget, a new “discover” section of the app, a crisp new font designed to improve the readability of news, Galaxy Gear support and several performance enhancements.

According to Feedly, V17.0 of this client features “300% faster” start times, so users will now be able have the app open in no-time and can dive straight into reading the latest news – providing they have an active Internet connection.

The update also brings a much more fluid scrolling experience. You may have noticed that prior to the upgrade if you quickly scrolled straight to the bottom of a category there was a slight stutter, and the performance of the app decreased dramatically. But thankfully, the improved scrolling experience resolves this issue and navigating around Feedly has never been so snappy.

Bundled into this update are several visual changes. Firstly, the fonts have been re-tooled for improved readability, and the home screen widget has been redesigned, providing users with a variety of different customization options.

The full changelog for the update can be viewed below:
