Signs that Google has dropped Samsung and tasked Asus to make its second-generation Nexus 10 first appeared last month when a British retailer began listing the device in its internal inventory. Now the move appears to have been confirmed by reliable tipster @Evleaks.

I’m sure you’re already familiar with @Evleaks, but if you’re new around here, they’ve been behind a large number of leaked press images, in-the-wild photos, and leaked specifications for unreleased smartphones and tablets. And according to their latest picture, Asus will indeed be manufacturing Google’s new Nexus 10, and it’s “getting closer.”

We don’t have any specifications yet, unfortunately, but we’re hoping to see Google announce the new Nexus 10 in the coming months.

It’s unclear why the search giant decided to partner with Asus for the new tablet, breaking its traditional two-year agreement with third-party manufacturers, but maybe Samsung didn’t have the capacity to make it with all of the Galaxy devices it is producing at the moment.

The previous Nexus 10 leak from PC World indicated a 32GB Nexus 10 will cost £349 in the U.K., which is £40 cheaper than the current 32GB Nexus 10.
