One of the most highlighted feature on the Galaxy S4 from Samsung is Group Play. The feature allows multiple Galaxy S4 owners to playback the same music, converting their devices into a surround sound speaker. SoundSeeder from JetApps brings similar functionality to all Android devices out there.

There are only two requirements to using SoundSeeder – All the devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and secondly, the music needs to be played back from the SoundSeeder music player, and the SoundSeeder speaker app needs to be installed on the Android devices you want to use as a speaker. If you don’t have access to a Wi-Fi network, you can easily create a mobile network hotspot and connect the accompanying Android devices to it.

Below is a small video showing SoundSeeder in action -:

Compared to Samsung’s Group Play, SoundSeeder has certain advantages including the ability to control the volume of individual devices right from the main device, the ability to assign a certain stereo (left/right/stereo) channel to a device and more.

SoundSeeder music player and the speaker app can be downloaded for free from the Play Store, and is compatible with all Android devices running FroYo or higher. However, the free version of the app only allows connection to one Android device, with a playback time of up to 4 minutes. These limitations can be removed by purchasing the full version of the app via an in-app purchase.
