Samsung Unveils Rugged Galaxy Tab 3 Kids For The Little People In Your Life

Have you been trying to avoid buying a tablet for your unruly kids because you’re worried they’ll drop and break it? Well the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is designed especially for the little people in your life. The 7-inch device is embedded inside a rugged bumper case that will keep it protected, and it comes pre-loaded with a ton of kid-friendly content.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is essentially a regular 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 that’s been pre-packed into a protective case. It has the same internal specifications, including a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

But it comes in a snazzy color, and it’s built “specifically for kids with the educational tools and safety features parents want.” It’s pre-loaded with educational games, entertainment apps, and e-books, and parents can pick and choose which applications their children can access using the Application Manager.

There’s even a cool Time Management feature which allows parents to specify exactly how long their children can use the tablet for and prevent overuse. When the designated time is up, the device will automatically become locked until a parent enters the security password.

“It’s no secret that kids are using technology more than ever before,” said JK Shin, CEO and head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Communication division. “We saw an opportunity to create a device just for kids that provides them with an intuitive, fun and kid-friendly user experience filled with rich, interactive and educational content that parents will love.”

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes with a “kid-friendly” grip that doubles as a stand, and an “easy-to-grip” C Pen stylus that allows kids to draw and sketch on the tablet without leaving marks on other surfaces or objects.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will be available in Korea in early September before rolling out to China, Europe, U.S., Africa, South America, and South East Asia later on.
