Moto X Officially Arrives On Verizon Thursday, August 29

Moto X

The Moto X launched on AT&T over this last weekend, and the device will officially go on sale for Verizon customers this Thursday, August 29th.

But there are a couple catches.

The first catch is that orders can only be placed on the Verizon website initially, as in-store availability won’t be ready until the “coming weeks.” The delay may have something to do with Motorola’s exclusivity agreement with AT&T.

And that brings us to the second catch. Because AT&T gets exclusive launch rights to let customers customize the color of the Moto X, Verizon customers can only get the phone in black and white. Motorola’s deal with AT&T will likely end sometime in the next few weeks, but until then, no Moto Maker for Verizoners.

Pricing is $199 for the base model, which puts the Moto X in the same category as flagship phones like the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5.

No official word yet on when the Moto X will be on Sprint and T-Mobile.
