Vine for Android has been updated to add support for mentions and hashtag auto-complete — features that were introduced to the iOS app back in April. The update is available to download now from Google Play for devices running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.

With the latest version of Vine for Android, you can finally mention friends in posts and comments — either to tag them in your videos, or to draw their attention to someone else’s. In addition to this, you’ll also get some help when entering hashtags, because Vine will no automatically complete them for you.

There are also “other bug fixes and improvements” in this release, so you may find that the app is more stable, and performance has improved.
