Google Hangouts Update Brings New Emoji’s & Some “Butter”

Hangouts Cover

Google Hangouts received a minor update on the Play Store earlier this week, which is only now just rolling out to its users. This upgrade to version 1.1 brings some new emoji’s, bug fixes and the inclusion of some “butter” to Hangouts, in an effort to make it run faster and increase the fluidity of the app.

Hangouts is Google’s universal messaging app, which combines GTalk, Voice, Hangouts and Google+ Messenger. This service enables you to converse with a circle of G+ contacts through text messaging, picture uploads and video calling.

A bunch of bugs have been fixed within the Hangouts app, including the annoying defect which caused duplicate notifications to be received for each message sent within a conversation.
