Motorola Planning Nexus 4-Like Smartphone For Under $320 [Rumor]

Motorola is said to be developing a new smartphone that will be similar to the Nexus 4 in both specifications and price, with plans to sell it at less than €250 ($320). The device isn’t expected to replace the Nexus smartphone, but rather go on sale alongside it, according to unnamed sources for a Spanish-language website.

ADSLZone claims the device will have a fast quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p video, and a display that’s at least 4.5 inches big.

The device will not be “customizable” like the rumored Moto X, sources claim, and it will be deployed in Europe, while the Moto X is expected to go on sale mainly in the U.S.

ADSLZone doesn’t have a release date for the device, but they do expect the handset to be available by the end of this year — sometime during the fourth quarter.

This is the first time we’ve heard about such a device from Motorola, and given that the information comes from a source we’ve not heard of before, we’re unable to vouch for its credibility. With that being the case, take it with a pinch of salt for now.
