Motorola DROID MAXX Appears In Press Render [Rumor]

The Motorola DROID MAXX made its debut appearance in a leaked press render this weekend. We do not know an awful lot about this device, but we do know that it will be coming to Verizon later this year — presumably in the fall.

The render was leaked on Twitter, courtesy of @Evleaks, showing the MAXX with the classic red DROID eye, confirming that this device is undoubtedly part of the DROID brand. The handset has Kevlar wrapping from the back to the front lower chin and a speaker grill on the front of the device, with a small front-facing camera mounted alongside it.

The standard power/lock switch is situated above the volume rocker on the right-hand side of the device, similar to the Galaxy S4’s configuration.

Motorola appears to have played a strange card when it comes to navigating around the device. The DROID MAXX seems to have hardware soft navigation keys, which the majority of Motorola devices moved away from during last year. The back, home and multi-task buttons are positioned directly below the display and embedded into the thick black bezel on the front of the handset.

The Google-owned company does not appear to have changed its approach with regards to design, the MAXX looks like a combination of the RAZR M and the RAZR HD which we saw in 2012; nothing eye-catching by any means.
