Dolphin Browser For Android Gets New Look, Customizable Home Screen, Flash Support

Dolphin-Android

Dolphin, a popular third-party browser for Android, just got another big update that makes several improvements and introduces new features. In addition to a new look, the app now boasts a customizable home screen with over 60 speed dial slots, a new Web App Store, Flash support, and more.

The version 10 update comes as Dolphin celebrates 80 million installs on the Android platform, and the improvements made in this release are sure to add many more to that figure. Here’s what’s new in this update.

  • Web App Store
You can now add web apps to your home screen from the Web App Store. It has everything you’d expect, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, and eBay — all of which let you quickly switch between your favorite services without ever having to open another app.
  • Customizable Home Screen
The first thing you see when you open Dolphin up is its home screen, and now that’s completely customizable with drag and drop grouping. There are more than 60 speed dial slots for all of your favorite sites, and you can now sort them into folders to make them even easier to find.
  • Dolphin Key
The Dolphin Key gives you single-swipe access to the browser menu, tab list, or Dolphin’s Gesture/Sonar features.
  • Direct Search
When you search with Dolphin, you don’t just get Google and a few other search engines, but also the option to search Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Wikipedia — all from the URL bar.
  • Flash Support
Dolphin did kill Flash support when Adobe stopped supporting Flash for Android, but now it’s back for devices that are still running it. Simply head into the Settings menu and re-enable it again.
  • Themes & Night Mode
Dolphin’s themes and night mode have been updated in version 10, so you’ll need to install these alongside Dolphin if you wish to use them.

These are some very nice improvements for a terrific browser. If you haven’t already downloaded Dolphin and given it a whirl, I highly recommend you do. It’s completely free, and you won’t run into any ads. Hit the source link below to find it in Google Play.
