The unlocked Sony Xperia ZL is heading to the United States after being listed on the official Sony Store. The device will be available in three colors — black, red, and white — but Sony hasn’t yet confirmed its price or its release date. It’s thought, however, that the handset will be available “within the next month.”
The Xperia ZL is the “C6506’ variant of the Xperia Z, Sony’s flagship smartphone for 2013, which was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas back in January. The device has already launched in Europe, but it’s yet to make its way to the U.S.
It appears it won’t be too long before that happens, however. Although Sony hasn’t confirmed pricing or a release date, Xperia Blog reports:
There is also no release date, but we understand the phone will be available within the next month.
[...] We have heard that the US price for the ZL will be $759.99 unlocked, but will confirm official pricing once it has been announced.
However long it takes, the Xperia ZL will be well worth the wait. We’re already familiar with just how terrific the original Xperia Z is, and this version is almost exactly the same — except it has LTE connectivity, not just 3G; and it’s available in red, not just black and white.
