Pocket Casts Is A Sexy New Podcasts App For Android Devices

Good podcast catchers are hard to come by. Shifty Jelly has released a new app in Google Play called Pocket Casts, and it looks like the best podcasts app there is for Android.

The app is designed for Jelly Bean and it features the sliding navigation pane that’s so common in mobile apps today. You can import podcast lists manually with OPML files or use the app’s discovery feature to find shows. New episodes can be downloaded and streamed right to your device once they’re made available.

There’s cloud syncing across devices and the ability to backup your podcasts in case you ever need to reinstall the app. Smart playlists let you have full control over how you listen to and watch shows.

You can control what you’re playing in Pocket Casts from your phone or tablet’s notification center, lock screen, headphones, and even Bluetooth connection. The app has all kinds of little bells and whistles, like a sleep timer, instant refresh, automatic download resuming, sharing, and more. It’s a beautiful, functional-looking app for any Android user who loves podcasts.

You can get it now in Google Play for $4.

FYI. Pocketcasts is not a “new” app. It is a redesign of an existing app. An excellent redesign though.
