Magnetyze Cordless Charger Now in Car and Travel Versions
You know about Magnetyze, right? It’s a system that lets you charge an iPhone 4/S or Galaxy S3 without the need for a cord. Pop your iPhone into the provided case, then drop the case on the magnetic charging base and your iPhone will charge (and sync) — it works kind of like the MagSafe power adapter on a MacBook. It’s really cool on the S3, because the Magnetyze case replaces the S3’s original back, so there’s almost zero extra bulk. Neat.
Magnetyze has been around since early this year; the new news is that thay’ve added a travel charger and a car charger, both, of course, cordless.
The car charger looks the most intriguing, because it both acts as a dash mount and a charger; no more cords getting in the way of the shifter or dash. The travel charger also includes an extra USB port for a second phone.
Both of the new gadgets are available for pre-order right now, with no clear delivery date. The Magnetyze AC Wall Charger (that’s the travel charger) is $45, while the Magnetyze Car Charging Stand is $55.
The main Magnetyze system (required for the accessories) for the iPhone is $70 or, if you want a backup battery in the case, $100. The Galaxy S3 model also comes in to versions: $80 with the ability to sync as well as charge, $70 for just charging.
