O2 Begins Rolling Out Sony Xperia T’s Jelly Bean Update To Users In U.K.

Sony-Xperia-T

O2 has begun rolling out the Sony Xperia T’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean upgrade, just a day after it was announced by Sony. The update brings a number of changes and improvements, including a bunch of new apps and some enhancements for the launcher.

It’s an impressively quick turnaround from O2. Carriers are often criticized for delaying Android software updates while they carry out their necessary testing — O2 included — but I think we’d all be delighted it they could get them out this quickly.

This update is the biggest the Xperia T has seen since it launched last August. In addition to the standard Jelly Bean enhancements, such as Google Now and Project Butter, it brings resizable widgets, support for up to seven home screens, the stock Jelly Bean launcher, and new Walkman, Albums, and Movies apps.

If you’re an O2 customer with an Xperia T, and you haven’t already had a notification to say the update is available, you’ll be able to download it by visiting the Software Updates sections within the Settings app. You should also be able to download it on your Mac or PC using Sony’s official software.
