If you live in the United Kingdom and you’re planning on picking up the Xperia Z, then you might want to get your order in as early as possible. Sony is giving those who pre-order before February 27 a free pair of its MDR-1R headphones, which usually sell for $299.99 (approx. £190).

Sony announced the Xperia Z at the Consumer Electronics Show back in January, and it was by far one of the best devices on show. As the company’s flagship handset for 2013, it’s packed full of cutting-edge specifications, including a 5-inch 1080p display, a snappy 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and a 13-megapixel camera.

The Xperia Z has been priced at £449.99 (approx. $712) in the U.K. — that’s for the unlocked, SIM-free model — which falls in line with other high-end smartphones. It’s going to be available with most of the major carriers, and you can get it in black or white. O2 will also be offering an exclusive purple edition.

There’s no official release date for the Xperia Z yet, but Three has reportedly told The Verge that it’ll land on February 28. Given that the pre-order offer for the free headphones ends on February 27, that certainly sounds plausible.
