Print Your Holiday Photos Wirelessly From Your Phone

Christmas is nearly here, and with it comes the snapping of a million never-to-be shared photos. So, instead of promising your friends and family that you’ll e-mail pictures, or trying to teach your mom how to use shared Photo Streams, or dicking around with SD cards and sneakernet, why not just make some good, old-fashioned prints?

And don’t worry – you won’t have to touch a computer.

The Canon Pixma IP7220 is an AirPrint-compatible photo printer which works with Android, Windows RT and iOS. You need the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint app to access all the features, which include printing on both sides of a sheet of paper, and printing stills from HD movies.

Prints can be made with the five ink tanks at up to
8.5’ x 11’ and a resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. That’s more than enough to share a photo of Uncle Pete snoring after lunch with a paper hat still on his balding head.

The best part of the new Pixma, though, is the price: $99. Of course, ink refills are going to cost an absolute fortune, so why not try this: Buy the IP7220 for somebody as a gift. That way you get to print away all day on Christmas Day, but you never need to buy any ink.

You’re welcome.
